WE NEED INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN KUPA.

Governor Yahaya Bello

This is to inform His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello that Kupa Ward which is regarded as one of the largest Ward in Lokoja II of  Kogi State, have borne the brunt of deplorable roads and complete neglect by the past government for several years.
The difficulties posed by deplorable roads have made life unbearable to the great people of this community. It seemed all their pleas to the past government to repair their roads have yielded no positive outcome. They've pleaded, lamented and prayed endlessly for government intervention, but all their efforts for redemption have proved futile.
The Community needs regular power supply, potable water, good roads and excellent medical care as these are the basic needs required.
The provision of these facilities will foster rapid rural development and help to checkmate the rural-urban drift being experienced.
The good people of this community are imploring the governor to reconstruct the Jamata-Budan-Abugi-Eggan road. This is one of the major roads in Kogi State. The reconstruction of the road will bring about rapid economic development of the area.
We know His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello is capable of providing these amenities as such we are pleading to him for quick intervention, and  we expect him to do so urgently.

The Chairman of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (AUTH) branch of the Medical And Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), Comr. Steve Oricha, has said the N30,000 new minimum wage approved by the Federal Government will not change the lives of workers. Comr. Oricha, who spoke with our reporter in Gwagwalada yesterday, said although the implementation of the new minimum was a good thing, it would not help the workers. He said, “Personally, I don’t think government has done workers any favour by introducing the N30,000 minimum wage.” He said labour unions had demanded for N56,000 and that for government to agree to pay N30,000, according to him, would not address the welfare challenges of Nigerian workers.
